Dante Direct

Hello! This is RedXi coming in with the first Dante Monthly Report! Happy Labor Day for all my americans!
What is this for?
This monthly report is updates, changelog info, all sorts of things including updates to the general progress as it relates to life and such!
First and Foremost, what everyone who has visited the page can see:

New LCP!
One of the most important things to me at least, is the general change I made to LCP Structure. The big one as it stands is no more Dante Distributors & Co . They went bankrupt after investing in bringing Scrat meat to the wider galaxy. DD&C still lives on (in mah heart)
All this change really is was collapsing the Field Guide Player Content and all of the mech data into one LCP to make everyone's lives easier!
The Field Guide to Dante Player's guide contains at current: All Mechs, Alternative Frames, Talents, Exotic Mech Gear that are currently ready for playtest

Sooo What Changed?
This LCP as well as combining has some new stuff and some changes to specific mechs as I looked and worked. All of these changes were made and discussed with the help of my wonderful players and the Pilot.Net homebrew channel.
Chicxulub
Chicx had by far the biggest changes:

  • Hazard Subsystems: Changed completely. Now when in Danger Zone, you just get an extra armor. Added a 1/R where you get hit, you deal damage, Spiky!
  • Mag Rail: Mag Rail now is a self heat quick action. You take it, and you can either give an ally a free boost, or pull an enemy to you.
  • "Amperage": This had the biggest change. Functioning now more like a shield, you can switch between a high damage longer threat profile, or a lower damage protecting profile. Chicx wants you to use both depending on situation. Alone? go high damage and mollywhop. With allies? Raise your shield and give some good cover
  • Nanocarbon: Name change, plus quick action to charge it
  • New NHP?: Chicxulub now has it's own NHP and Carnage Storm was changed to Thousand Year Storm. Cook yourself, but cook enemies around you. Great for all my energy damage heads out there, (looking at you Manticore or Tokugawa)

Why Change Chicxulub?
I changed Chicxulub because I didn't like how it was just a flavored reskin of Empakaai. I wanted it to have it's own identity/niche in general, so tuning it out of grapple man, and into shield man made the most amount of sense. I'm happier where it is for right now!

Kaali
Kaali didn't have many changes, for it, it was wording updates, and smaller changes

  • 4th gen Adiabatic: Cleaned up wording to clarify 1/R
  • "Isopleth" Really cleaned up wording for consistency, addition of the "mimic" profile from Core Power.
  • Core Power: Cleaned up wording heavily, got rid of the superheavy clause
  • Notus Trough: No more Heavy. This is Aux, Main
  • Corialis: No more Aux, this is Main, Heavy.
  • Anemoi Class NHP: really cleaned up the wording and gave it the "Linked Weapon" Weapon

Why these changes?
Kaali needed wording updates, which happened thanks to my wonderful players!
Really the big one was the Linked Weapon. I had to just lay out in detail how this actually works, particularly the use restriction, as well as how the ranges and conditions effecting the weapon itself worked for clarity. Because when you say "Combine two weapons" Specify what that means

New Frames?
Yes, we are working on a few new frames, exotic frames/alternate frames for some licenses, as well as a new GMS frame

GMS Cuexcomate
Size 1/2. LL0, specialty? Heat and Overcharge.
That's right we're taking a foray into GMS mechs. The Cuexcomate is meant really play around heat as a mechanic. My reasoning for why is the GMS frames are meant to be tutorial/learn how to be comfy with various rolls, and easily splashable with any LL. There is no real GMS frame that plays around with both half size shenanigins, or heat mechanics.
Cuexcomate is meant to be that frame as it cares about overcharging and playing around with various heat mechanics.

GWA Wuxia
Size 2. LL2: Shao Alternate Frame. Focus? The Melee Game
When I designed the Shao and really all of the GWA Mechs, a main bit of inspiration was fighting game combos. Shao and its license wants you to hit with multiple weapons to get additional effects. Particularly Drainage Sweep Spear and Damascus Lance. Wuxia has that flavor. The frame wants you to designate your attacks as light or heavy, gaining a benifit from doing so. It's passive allows you to go a bit crazy and do a "combo finisher" as if you had been flowing with your weapons.

What Next?
Well! I am putting axe to grindstone. At this point, beside running for my wonderful players, I am slowly chipping away at the rewrites I want to make. The last section I did was about a month ago, as I moved in August and so did not have too much time.
