Dante Direct: February :3

HELLO!

Welcome to another installment of the Dante Direct, where we talk all things Dante once per month at around the middle of the month in a consistent inconsistent schedule! I hope everyone had a lovely January, and it does indeed seem to be getting outside, which causes my Lizard brain to shut down. But without further ado, I have updates! But however, as you may notice by a lack of updates to the site in general, and as well a lack of communications, we’ve been grinding. And for the first time in a while, shockingly, I don’t have changes ready at this time.

Burnout and Me

If you recall, I had decided I would spend January collating and grabbing all the various facets I’ve written on Dante: The major campaign I’m running, Syents & Synners, as well as the smatterings of changes that have come from: Break & Enter, Blood Money, Wedding days, and Infernium OS. These One shots were written and played over the course of October through December, except for Blood Money.

Now you see, instead of doing what I had set out to do, I was a lying liar and decided to run a Noir One Shot set on the Revelry because I like running things and my GM brain is fucking stupid. This lead me to making Blood Money, which was shockingly….intricate to write. (who knew, setting up mysteries is difficult! Shocker, right?)

So the result was just a general bit and aspect of fatigue to Dante and in all honesty I was having a few weeks where the words didn’t want to flow. So, quite simply, I took a break :3. And instead of writing for Dante, I wrote something else for about a week to two weeks, which is a little side project I’ll clean up after the one year mark of Dante things. This side project is The House of Tombs homebrew faction for the KTB! Which is a necromantic house, really fun to write, many a brainworms, if you are reading this, you can ask about it in OC cantina in Pnet and i’ll probably get pinged and shoot this mess of a document to you.

BUT At the tail end of January, I parked my ass down, and I started to tackle these re-writes. I’m trying to write around….2 hours a day, or edit/redo around 2 to 3 pages.

WHY SO SLOW???? I have other responsibilities. I work, I’m looking at Master’s Programs, and day to day living is a thing I gotta do. However, the second note is, how massive these re-writes are.

Let’s take the section I just rewrote/retooled. Purga.

Purga before re-writes was 1084 words total. 14 paragraphs give or take. Now, Purga is 2,629 words, 25 paragraphs give or take. Alot of sections are going to be doubling and being expounded upon, and this says nothing of history, the various factions, etc.

I am now 25/150 pages done with these rewrites And these are just world building rewrites. This says nothing to the fact I need to sit down and retool campaign mechanics, pilot gear, espirtes, and other stuff.

I am really taking my time with this aspect of the field guide because its important to me to give the locations the breath and depth I intend to, as these are the full total draws of the things I’ve thought about the last few months after the first One Shot.

New Stuff on the Horizons!

Of course however, New things will still be coming.

I have ideas with help from some friends, particularly to make my Big 4 new licenses. The IPS-N Bermuda: a tech controller frame that fucks with enemy vision and neutralizes tech options of your enemies.

The SSC Morpho: A Ferrotoxic frame using a crossbow to turn debuffs into damage

The HA Louverture: A defense drone platform utilizing special subalterns to engage in gruellia warfare.

In addition, I’ve been thinking of the frames I have to redo. Starting with the OPVS/C, many of them will be retooled from the ground up in terms of what the frames want to do and Core Bonuses!

Finally, as a last little cool thing I finally have the GWA logo done! Look at it! How neat it is.

I wanted the logo to reflect the sketchy nature of practicing art, as well as calling back to the golden ratio, proportions, and all sorts of things. As a result, I made this! I am very happy that I finally got that done, because the OPVS/C logo had been done for quite a while.

But that’s all from this time, see you guys in a month!
